Very impressive Victorian bread fork Antique silver plated, muffin fork, decorative Victorian fork made c. 1850s by John Round & Son - mark until 1874.

Bread was an important part of meal for Victorians, it would be served as a side dish to most dinners, so bread forks become quite common to use.

The firm was established by John Round in Sheffield in 1847 as a small familiar workshop attached to his house in Tudor Street. The business proved successful and the firm in partnership with his son Edwin went under the title of John Round & Son (1863). In 1874 the firm became John Round & Son Ltd and in 1886 the business of Ridge, Allcard & Co (Lions Works, Eyre Lane) was amalgamated and John Ridge became the manager. Supposedly, in this period the JR & S mark was sometimes accompanied by the "four tridents" trade mark, previously used by Joseph Ridge. The main factory was the renewed Tudor Works, Tudor Street, Sheffield while various showrooms operated in London. The firm was active at Tudor Works Tudor St (1852-1934)

Shipping Delays

Our shop is not responsable for any delay on arrival dates from your parcel, from the post office or another carrier.
Please inspect and report any damages within 3 days of receipt. Please keep all packaging should there be an issue.

Returns and exchange details

I do not accept returns based on size issues. Contact me within 2 days of delivery if there is some other issue with your order.

If we agree that there is a reason for a return, we require that it be posted promptly following our convo. If the item is returned beyond one week following our convo, a re-stocking fee of 20% will be deducted. This amount will increase by 10% for each successive week.

The item must be returned by Post with tracking numbe with all of its ORIGINAL PACKAGING including any bubble wrap, gift bag or box, insured for its purchased price, and must be received in the SAME CONDITION as when it was shipped to you and not altered in any way. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible

Gift wrapping and packaging

I try to use recycled and eco-friendly packaging as much as possible, while still keeping your product safe and intact during shipping. In the case that your fragile item needs more protection, I make sure to use 100% biodegradable packing peanuts.
